Nearly 56% of the calories consumed by adults in the UK and 58% of calories eaten in the US come from Ultra Processed Foods, making them the primary energy source of those countries.
This rises to an average of 67% for children in the UK and the USA.
Even worse news is that high consumption of ultra-processed food is associated with a 79% increased risk of obesity and abdominal obesity, increasing the risk factor for cardiovascular disease, cancer, high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes and depression.
Making even a few changes to what you and your family eat every day and removing some UPFs can make a big difference to your overall health.
So if you want to learn more about which UPFs I think you should be eliminating first you can download my free booklet
