Smoked Salmon Pasta

About the Recipe

This is a favorite quick and easy meal that adds fish to our diet and is ready in the time it takes to cook the pasta.


  • 300g pasta such as tagliatelle or spaghetti

  • 350g smoked salmon

  • 1 large leek

  • juice of 1 lemon

  • 250ml double cream (1 US cup)

  • 25g butter


Step 1

Put the pasta in boiling water and cook according to the cooking instructions (typically 11 minutes).

Step 2

Finely chopped the leek. Gently saute the leek in the butter for 2 - 3 minutes so it’s soft but not browned.

Step 3

Pour in the lemon juice and boil rapidly to reduce the liquid by about half. Add the smoked salmon and cream and turn off the heat.

Step 4

Once the pasta is cooked drain it retaining a little of the pasta cooking water. Toss into the sauce until gently coated. If it needs the extra pasta water to be fully coated add it a little at a time. Now it’s ready to serve.
